Physicochemical properties and stability of 9-amino-2,3,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-1H-cyclopenta[b]quinoline monohydrochloride monohydrate (NIK-247)
The chemical structure, physico-chemical properties and stability of an anti-dementia drug, 9-amino-2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8-hexahydro-lH-cyclopenta[b]quinoline monohydrochloride monohydrate (NIK-247), were studied. The chemical structure was confirmed by elemental analysis, and UV, IR, NMR and mass spectral analyses. The physico-chemical properties were clarified by studying the solubility, hygroscopicity, partition coefficient, dissociation constant, polymorphism, etc. The stability of NIK-247 was investigated by TLC and HPLC. NIK-247 in the solid state was found to be stable to heat, moisture and light.
